Tauranga Classic Motorcycle Club
Founded in 1976, the Tauranga Classic Motorcycle Club is the second longest-running classic motorcycle club in New Zealand.The club’s primary purpose is to foster the preservation and enjoyment of classic motorcycles, following a rolling 25-year-old rule for what qualifies as “classic.”
Located in the heart of Mount Maunganui, the club owns its own clubrooms where monthly meetings are held. Members enjoy Saturday morning coffee meets, monthly gatherings, weekly and monthly rides, and various multi-day tours to interesting locations throughout the year.
The club hosts an annual rally that attracts riders, partners, and bikes from other national clubs, and members regularly attend rallies hosted by clubs in New Plymouth, Hawkes Bay, and Manawatu. While many members ride classic British, European, and American machines, the club welcomes Japanese classics as well, and many members also own modern bikes for longer distance or informal weekday rides.
