Tauranga Creative Fibre is part of the wider Creative Fibre network in the Bay of Plenty and provides a welcoming, supportive environment for people who enjoy fibre-based crafts such as knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving (including flax), felting, dyeing, and other textile arts.

The group traditionally meets at the Tauranga Art and Craft Centre with daytime sessions on Mondays and additional evening gatherings, and welcomes members at all skill levels—from beginners curious about learning new techniques to experienced crafters wanting to share and develop their skills.

Workshops, project help, and social crafting sessions are part of what keeps the group lively and collaborative, and many members contribute handmade items to local charities and community events. Because Creative Fibre is a regional organisation, meetings may shift or expand, so contacting them directly for the most current schedule and membership details is recommended.

The ethos is very much about community: members share knowledge, explore traditional and contemporary fibre crafts, and build connections with others who appreciate tactile creative pursuits. This makes it a great option for anyone in Tauranga who loves knitting, crochet, weaving or other fibre arts and wants a consistent creative outlet with friendly support.

Meetings:
Every Monday, 9.30am to approx. 1–2pm.
2nd and 4th Thursdays 7pm
